The most distinctive feature of this 12.1 megapixel camera is its astounding 36x optical zoom. A backlit CMOS sensor, improved image processor and Vibration Reduction all help ensure that even when fully zoomed in, the picture quality does not suffer. It also supports full HD movie recording with stereo sound.

In addition to the regular camera modes - Program Auto, Aperture-priority, Shutter-priority, and Manual - the P500 is also equipped with various creative filter effects such as Selective Colour, Fisheye, and Miniature Effect. The camera also has the inbuilt ability to create panoramic pictures, thus helping you shoot better landscapes.

Despite having the look and feel of a professional camera, the P500 is in fact very easy to operate. Its 3 inch LCD monitor can be tilted to shoot from unique angles and its user friendly operational buttons are strategically placed to ensure secure and comfortable shooting for its users.
